LUNCH TIME AT KEMBANG GOELA - It was sunny sunny day, I was with my friend Fiqih and Onky, lying inside my room and looking for having a lunch that day. We are all very familiar with delivery services, fast foods, mall food court, but then we decided to have a different lunch. I always mesmerized with a concept restaurant, the biggest name I have heard is from Pakis Culinary Group - and one of them is Kembang Goela.
Actually Kembang Goela is the nearest concept resto in my neighborhood compared to other outlets under Pakis Culinary Group, located at Plaza Sentral, Parking Lot - Jl.Jend. Sudirman Kav. 47-48. Jakarta 12930. Then honestly, I thought it was a place that too clumsy for me, very formal and when it comes to the prices, I prefer to take on sushi, but in fact, when you entering the gate, the ambience of vintage Javanese and its exclusivity is very pronounced. Since this atmosphere is rare nowadays, the feelings of freshness and amazed for us the youth and maybe feelings of nostalgia and memories for our parents can be seen from its furniture, decorations and even the back sound, sooo uber sweet. Moreover the waiter with matching uniform with its concept, and again reminds me to my like a King escape vacation at Amanjiwo Resort.
We took our seat with the most sun light exposure and we still wondering about the menu and the bill. Then the book coming, I mean with the book is a list of the menu. Poffertjes Van Oranye, Djoewita Malam, Oedang Kapitein Jongker, Ayam Mevrouv Lintje, Sosis Sinyo Londo and etcs - No Idea. The wide range of foods; started from Javanese, Netherlandish or the foods in a colonial era making us excited but again we want them all. So we decided to share the foods, and oh they also have other style of serving food, and it's called Risjtaffel.
Rijstaffel, the style of serving food like this was starting in a Dutch colonial era in land of Java and after that it becomes a favorite way to serve the colleagues at that time - at the time of main course serving, every kind of food will be brought by one waitress, so that will be seen rows of waiters coming out of the kitchen, each one of them carrying a plate of food types. Each waiter is responsible for the type of food they were carrying. Kembang Goela revives the feel of it into a new concept of a slight adjustment of today's era but if you want ala carte style it is not a big deal. Maybe we should try the Risjstaffel style, but in a meantime Ultra thin Dendeng Balado, Ayam Mevrouw Lintje, Sosis Om Yance (epic name menu is a Major Epic) and for the first time Oseng Oseng Ketjipir were accompanying us with Es Londo Kangen, Es Pariyangan, Es Jangan Ditanya and our Sweet Romance mix-style juice. I am fanning of the Dendeng Balado, the thinnest and crunchy-est beef meat that I have ever eaten, and do not under estimated the Oseng Oseng Ketjipir, all the beverages? Perfect for sunny days, but there is more and more menu that is worth to try next time.
I was Enjoying, we were enjoying our almost 3 hours lunch at Kembang Goela, what a nice place to have a quality talk with friends, family, relatives and even business meeting. Very quiet place with the strains of the backsong is not louder than our voices, great style of serving foods; the designs, the look, the set, the taste and the epic name, they brought me to the beautiful past atmosphere and for the price range is starting from Rp.25.000 for the beverage and starting from Rp.40.000 for main menu or if you just want to have a little high tea on the afternoon, here is absolutely a nice place. Maybe I need more than 10 times of visits to actually taste the entire menu, and that’s mean Kembang Goela is on your list of the unusual places to enjoy your dishes or even held the private event such a wedding, birthday, gathering and everything or maybe you can start the journey of culinary just like now or maybe tomorrow?
