LA TABLE AT ROYAL MANSOUR MARRAKECH THE MODERN BRASSERIE AT ANY TIME OF THE DAY

LA TABLE AT ROYAL MANSOUR MARRAKECH

LA TABLE AT ROYAL MANSOUR MARRAKECH THE MODERN BRASSERIE AT ANY TIME OF THE DAY ——— Located in the heart of the Royal Mansour Marrakech, LA TABLE restaurant has undergone a makeover: a new restaurant concept overseen by Yannick Alléno. In order to surprise us, the Chef has brilliantly liberated himself from the pure brasserie tradition to offer a daring and resolutely responsible cuisine. He has been in charge of the Palace’s restaurants since it opened in 2010, and is now taking on a new challenge: reinventing the French brasserie, a modern brasserie that is in tune with the times. As a master in the art of living, Yannick Alléno takes care of the kitchen and everything else: the dishes, the rituals and sequences of service, the way of sharing a meal, everything that makes lunch or dinner an unforgettable occasion.

With this new restaurant concept, LA TABLE at Royal Mansour Marrakech invites everyone to invent their own experience. Ideal for dining with your family or as a couple, the surroundings of the private lounge lend themselves to business meals while the atmosphere of the large room is perfect for sociable dinners. LA TABLE is also the ideal location for a lunch break on the terrace or to celebrate special occasions. Eat on the go, have a feast or enjoy a nibble at aperitif time, LA TABLE will satisfy everyone’s tastebuds and all desires. Over time, this is how LA TABLE menu was conceived. At any time of the day, the Chef’s suggestion, a dish, a delicacy. An ice cream sundae at 2pm, a lobster roll as a light snack at 3pm or a plate of fish charcuterie for the aperitif, not to mention the traditional English tea time with its selection of sweet and savoury delights.

The menu is an ode to both land and sea, combining magnificent flavours from the French culinary tradition and local products drawn from the gastronomic heart of Morocco. The Chef provides masterful cuisine with an environmentally friendly touch: The product comes first. For Yannick Alléno, sourcing his products locally is essential. The products he uses are grown in the region and are organically produced. To bring out all their flavours, the meats are carefully matured in a cellar within the restaurant. This way, the carefully selected and matured prime rib retains its melt-in-the-mouth texture and expresses that much appreciated nutty flavour. The tasty tuna belly with sandy potatoes , alongside the monkfish escalope (and its condiments of lemon, capers, fennel and tarragon seasoned with parsley oil) will delight the most demanding palates. In order to continue the tradition and to vary the restaurant’s gastronomic offering, a weekly menu will have pride of place. A gourmet ritual, a great classic from the bistros and brasseries of yesteryear, brought up to date. For gourmands, a selection of desserts that revive the French tradition, between flambéed delights and fruity sweets, there is something for everyone.

“I wanted to offer Marrakchis and lovers of the Red City a menu that does service to classic dishes of French cuisine, an evolving menu to vary the pleasures, in a relaxed and friendly setting", Yannick Alléno often says.

TABLEWARE ——— The tableware has been entrusted to a House of excellence for custommade creations. To achieve this, we worked hand in hand with the Chef to design plates that are comfortable and easy to eat from. Nothing is left to chance. The unique tableware, in shades inspired by the fabrics of the setting, has been designed to dress the table in harmony with its surroundings.

DECORATION ——— For decoration, the Royal Mansour Marrakech naturally turned to the architecture and decoration professionals, 3BIS, who have been decorating the hotel and its developments since it opened in 2010.

Fabrice Bourg and Nicolas Papamiltiades, founders of the 3BIS Agency, have designed a timeless brasserie by rethinking and restructuring the space to meet the demands of a service that is in keeping with the Royal Mansour Marrakech. This new concept consists of several flowing and more open spaces.

Fabrice Bourg explains: “We have reinvented a space within the Royal Mansour, which marks a new chapter in the history of the Palace. We thought of it as a place that allows you to explore open and varied spaces. The interior and outdoor areas, linked by an elaborate decor with nature theme, are designed to bring a new experience to each visit, for a renewed pleasure according to the time of the day and according to the seasons.”

In particular, The Patio has been created in the central area that, from an architectural point of view, completes the perspective from the lobby. Its two timber-framed wings organise the space: two covered but open spaces, accessible from the inside through floor to ceiling windows. The Patio is punctuated by a fountain framed by a mosaic of sculpted marble and zelliges representing a stylised floral motif. Inside, the codes of Moroccan decor have been revisited, always honouring the local craftsmanship that is omnipresent at the Royal Mansour Marrakech. Shimmering colours, warm tones and sophisticated details characterise the interior of this new location, which uses brass, eggshell, enamel or crushed porcelain to surprise the eye with its constant harmony.

In the Great Hall, the mirror-effect false ceiling has been designed as an inverted water surface, a unique feature that conjures up a feeling of calmness and tranquility. Chandeliers adorned with crystal bead pendants induce the sense of luminous rain and are reflected to bring a sense of poetry to the setting. In terms of the brasserie spirit, the curved benches and oval tables bring a roundness and friendliness to the restaurant. These are made up of «trunk legs» carved from a block of walnut, which evoke the planted patio opposite, and black Saint Laurent marble. The carved wooden screens divide the room into boxes to accentuate the warm and friendly atmosphere. On the floor, the marble and zelliges have been covered with wool and silk carpets.

The furniture, all specifically designed for the Royal Mansour, brings modernity by rethinking the codes of the traditional brasserie while meeting the requirements of a palace service.

THE SOMMELIER TABLE - In order to offer places where you can experience special moments throughout the day or during your stay, the restaurant offers several private spaces:

The wine cellar reserved for experienced wine lovers, with a tasting area at its centre. The round table, a unique creation, is capped with a top made of pewter, copper nuggets, bronze, brass, aluminium and ruby, reminiscent of the colour of wine. Four glass cabinets present exceptional vintages and are integrated into a thematic library. LA TABLE’s Chef improvises an epicurean menu according to diners’ wishes and market produce.

The Sommelier Table overlooks the open kitchen with two old-fashioned China cabinets surrounding the final dish-dressing island.

THE SALON - In beige and brown tones, like a precious box, a wood marquetry forms frames overhung by a cedar ceiling with a stylised sandblasted decor, as if the shadows of plants were reflected, and by four metal chandeliers on the theme of foliage. The fireplace creates a cosy atmosphere. On the wall, a black and white photograph of the Jemaa El Fna square from the 1950s evokes the historic location of the palace.

It is here that the pastry chef Jean Lachenal has conceived tea à la française, brilliantly reinventing the biscuits of our childhood for a refined, stylish snack.

The Salon has been opened up, allowing communication with the Guest Table. It is therefore possible to cordon off an entire wing for an event.

THE GUEST TABLE - The open space on the terrace offers a friendly, social space. The revisited 60s-style armchairs face a coordinated bench where up to 10 people can sit with friends. The chef at LA TABLE offers a bourgeois menu in a pure French tradition.

THE PATIO - Designed for year-round living, The Patio is wrapped in traditional Moroccan trellises to create a shaded terrace. Outdoor restaurant furniture, not garden furniture, consists of light and comfortable seating such as sofas for one or two people. The bright colours create a cheerful setting. The table legs, like stylised tree trunks in a metallic finish, echo the centuries-old olive trees. Specially created lighting to wrap them in light, like fireflies, provides a lively evening atmosphere.

Since its opening, the Royal Mansour Marrakech has never stopped reinventing itself, in a constant quest for excellence, thus offering a luxury hotel that is perpetually evolving. As part of this continuous search for renewal, in 2019, the Royal Mansour Marrakech inaugurated SESAMO, an Italian gastronomic restaurant. Today, the magnificent French culinary tradition is honoured with a creative and gourmet cuisine in a setting that can be adapted as desired.

“After opening the Asian and Mediterranean restaurant LE JARDIN in 2016 and the Italian restaurant SESAMO in 2019, designed by Massimiliano Alajmo, we were missing classic dishes from French cuisine. These are now served at LA TABLE, with its generous menu and its accessible dishes. The Royal Mansour Marrakech is perfecting its gastronomic journey and thus confirming its mission to thrive as a gourmet destination.” concludes Jean-Claude Messant, who has been overseeing the palace since 2014
