How many of you already know that IlLido Bali actually exists? One of Singapore’s best and finest Italian restaurant now have opened its door for you, and I was fortunate enough to try some of their dishes right to fulfilled my hungry appetite.
It was a very nice weather but awful traffic but when I arrived at ilLido Bali, the feel and situation were just right for people who have freed from a crazy traffic, yes Bali has it for some reasons. It was pretty quiet, melancholic, thanked the late lunch we’re three looked like almost have a private space at ilLido Bali. Nice weather indeed, and it was actually afternoon and we decided to have a table in the middle of the restaurant, the sun exposed and how romantic do you think it was? A very romantic sunlight, and shared plates with friends, very Italian!
We had 4 different types of sharing appetizers; Grilled Octopus with Nduja, Scallops with Asparagus and Lobster Sauce, Grilled Asparagus with Beetroot, Garlic, and Almonds, and from Artisanal Pasta is Spaghetti with Seafood and Cherry Tomatoes.
Then we had 2 types of Individual mains; from the sea represented by Black Cod with Prawn Caccuccio and from the land by Lamb Rack with Grilled Eggplant and Olive Jus. I am actually not a lamb person, so read my experience on Lamb below.
And close it with sweet classic Tiramisu treat and countless glasses of Acqua Panna, we had drinks too much, and its still water, not-so-Italian, but if you consider having a bottle of wine, there are ranged of wine selections, grab your favorite, sit and dine.

The key of seafood and vegetable as main ingredients is freshness, and I got it from all these lovely dishes, very very nice experience. I personally love how tasty and spicy the Grilled Octopus was, as you know that cook octopus could be very tricky like undercooked and overcooked thingy, and it didn’t happen, everything on the plate was just right, it was delicious in my taste, moreover because I love spicy and love octopus, even at you-have-already-know that Japanese restaurant, it’s always on my must order list.
But the interesting fact, the 4 menus is represented a different taste; spicy from the Octopus, sweet from Beetroot, creamy from the Lobster sauce and a slight sourness from cherry tomatoes. I have asked the chef about his origin, and he said Tuscany, although I thought he will be said something more Mediterranean, but what do you expect more? Tuscany has produced so many talented chefs that the best represents Italian food. We cleaned all the plates!

We have finished the sharing plates as easy as it should be, and I was already feeling almost enough because you know, we had pasta. Now one plate seafood and one plate lamb, I said that I am not a lamb person, but I actually eat it, my friend cleaned it to the bone while I need to stop after some slices, the acceptable medium well layer, I prefer boneless and well done, haha I play safe with meat. The Black Cod with Prawn Cacciucco is definitely safe, it was better than Mahi-Mahi, both the texture and crispiness of its skin.
Tiramisu with Coffe Cream and Chocolate Pearls
In this state, we were officially full, but love has been made, all I can say it was very classic, although I prefer to end it with something that sour and cold like gelato or sorbet, or even Strawberry Sabayon with Vanilla Pannacotta. Overall, with 4 plates of appetizers, even you shared the main courses also with the desserts; bring your 3 friends with you to eat them all.
