September 2011

I have become very destructive lately, might be because I am so bored with some stuffs in my closet, mostly sweater and knitwear. It is just because this is Jakarta, have so small chances to wear any heater fabric such as knitwear, so this is it. Jakarta seems to have leaked like hell almost every day; there are several options you can take to protect you from excessive weather attacks are in addition besides destroying all your clothes collection. Young people usually wear like Jumpers or hoodies like Hoodies by Joe Browns, of course with a convenient choice of materials and thin, protected but still able to breathe.  Maybe because I lived in Bandung probably about 20 years, where the weather is cold, so the old folks call it Parisj Van Java, the city of Paris in the island of Java, so I really want to go to Paris and loved the clothes for the winter such as coats, leather, Knitwear, fur oh so happy I could die. Back to clothes reconstructing , McQueen might say that he had learning for years to constructing clothes before you reconstructing them, but I have to being bored first and then i ruin everything, so maybe next time my Balmain blazer will end sleeveless, will look like Kazami Homme, Oh God --" Stop me

So here the day, tonight will be the "IT" night, the night full of fashion, food and fun. Why Fashion? it is no need any explanation, featuring Indonesia's awesome street styler such as Adele Veronica (most Hyped girl), Ario Achda, Amril Ardi, Andres Suliano and i can type one by one, but for sure they all are people behind Lookbook Jakarta, and there is will be a fashion preview from very brand new designers, wish all of them will be an up-coming and the most talked everywhere after this show, so good luck. Why Food? come on, this event is sponsored by Canteen, so try to bite canapes and take a sip of a wine and Why Fun? get real, it is because of MEEEEEE, hahahaha of course not. So, I better be shut my mouth and start to dress up, see you all tonight and be great. HS

"Harem pants or harem trousers, also known as parachute pants, are women's baggy long pants tapered at the ankle, with side flaps on the hip that button at the waist area.
Harem pants, which originated in India, are like a cross between a skirt and a pair of skinny jeans. The legs, from the knees down, are fitted. The crotch area is loose and baggy as if it were cut to be a skirt. Traditional harem pants can be extremely large and baggy, with a very wide and full fit, very roomy, loose fitting, over-sized, puffy and spacious with elastic in waist and at ankles, and with the crotch below the knee almost to the ground.
Harem pants are commonly worn with a Greta pleated skirt - a short skirt that covers the top portion of the harem pants. Both harem pants and pleated skirts are commonly used in belly dancing. There are resources that show various forms of pleated skirts and explain how they are created.
Similar pants are also known as dimije, tshalvar, schalwar, salwar kameez, kaccha, patiala salwar, shintijan, sirwal, sharovary, Turkish trousers, Aladdin pants, balloon pants, drop crotch pants, pantaloons, zouave, pluderhose and pumphose." - Wikipedia

That is the definition of Harem Pants, in my opinion the fastest way to find out that it is Harem Pants or not, it has a kind of membrane between the thighs, they are loose, and I don’t know how to call it, let’s say that is membrane hahaha or you can say Drop Crotch. Harems Pants maybe inspired by Aladdin Pants which is tight in waist and ankle but very loose as long as legs but Aladdin Pants have no membrane between the thighs. Also with the carrot pants, based on many sources, the definition of Carrot pants – carrot pants are named because of their carrot-like shape style. They are wide at the hips and tapered at the ankles. These pants are set to be more popular than harem pants.

I put IN MY OPINION first because sometime people are confused with these labels; Harem, Aladdin and Carrot Pants but I thought that others people have their own perspective. Nowadays so many designers combine them all for the most innovative model. But the basic is Harem with its membrane, Aladdin with tight hips and ankle with no membrane, and Carrot with wide thighs with no membrane. If I have to choose one of this, I put my heart to Carrot Pants, because it’s close with basic pants, kind of cotton fabric Carrot pants with folds in hips area. For men Harem, it is best way to get them in denim, mens jeans are best for this Harem (one of the best I saw in the article “50 the Most Stylish New Yorkers”), and for Aladdin Pants, I suggest you to more loose with cotton tee or viscose fabric.

So, now can you distinguish which pure Harem, Harem-carrot, Harem-Aladdin, pure Aladdin or pure Carrot? OMG its still confusing hahahaha

or what are you? Harem, Carrot, Aladdin or even mixed???

it is full, classic and i like it. Hard to find shirt like this, made of silk and full of Italian classic embellishment, its totally art-wear. I saw on Paris fashion week, Lady Gaga in vintage Gianni Versace, Rodarte for Opening Ceremony and the lastest on Spring/Summer 2012 D&G menswear collection. So, where i can get something like this? Vintage Shop? is not that easy, if you can do some extreme thing, maybe you can find something in the pile of your grandparents closet hahaha. This is Classic and Vintage, consider my suggestion ;P

I see this very interesting as fashion item on this year, probably will hit another season in 2012 and see it attached on guys clothes is so thrilling me so well. Full of statement and drama is essential for this if only you wear basic top, you may choose to use this corsage otherwise not in the mood with a necklace. I just think about any flower, black lace and instantly so Valentino. One thing i remember and very memorable so that it stick on y mind is a major Hibiscus Corsage by Mrs.Carrie Bradshaw, maybe it is attached to her dress but i still looking at that as corsage, strong statement corsage. Go Carry On

PS: i wish i will see another great suprise from New York Fashion Week, is ON now
