10 REASONS WHY PEOPLE LOVE VISCOSE FABRIC
If you asked me, what's my favorite fabric to wear? I love natural fabrics such as cotton, linen, and silk. There are so many options of fabrics in the market, and many factors why I or you love to wear certain fabrics on a daily basis, such as price, durability, how the product is being made, sustainability factors, etc. But have you ever heard of Viscose or rayon fabric?
Viscose fabric, also known as rayon, is a popular and versatile textile that has gained the affection of many. I rarely shop for clothing, but once in a while, especially when I travel, mostly to Bali, sometimes I love to pick one or two new pieces of clothing. I don't exactly remember, the first time I fell in love with Viscose, but do you know, that when you stay at a luxury hotel (let's say in Bali) the lounge robe in your room or when you have your Spa treatment is most likely 100% Viscose, it's light, soft, breathable.
Although, Viscose is categorized as a type of semi-synthetic fiber that's derived from natural material, typically wood pulp. Efforts have been made to improve the environmental impact of viscose production, with more sustainable variations like Tencel (Lyocell) gaining popularity. Tencel is produced using a closed-loop process that minimizes water and chemical usage, making it a more eco-friendly option within the viscose family.
Back when I traveled in the summertime to Bali or Indonesia's tropical weather in general, I would choose a fabric that's light and breathable, or overall comfortable. But there are other reasons that will make you love Viscose as I do, here are 10 reasons why people love viscose fabric:
1. Soft and Comfortable: Viscose fabric is incredibly soft and
comfortable to wear. Its smooth texture feels gentle against the skin, making
it an ideal choice for clothing items like dresses, tops, and pajamas.
2. Breathable: Viscose is known for its breathability, allowing
air to flow through the fabric. This property makes it comfortable to wear in
warm weather, as it helps regulate body temperature and prevents overheating. That proves my point, Why is the spa/lounge robe in Bali mostly made from Viscose.
3. Drapes Well: Viscose fabric has an excellent drape, which means it
falls elegantly and flows beautifully when worn. This quality is particularly
favored in dresses, skirts, and other garments where movement and flow are
desired.
4. Versatile: Viscose fabric is versatile in terms of its
applications. It can be used for a wide range of clothing items, from casual
wear to formal attire, as well as for home textiles like curtains and
upholstery.
5. Vibrant Colors: Viscose takes dye exceptionally well, resulting
in vibrant and long-lasting colors. This makes it a popular choice for garments
that require rich and eye-catching hues.
6. Absorbent: Viscose fabric has good moisture-absorbing
properties, which can help keep you dry and comfortable by wicking away
moisture from the body.
7. Eco-Friendly Options: Sustainable versions of viscose, such as
Tencel or Lyocell, are becoming increasingly popular. These versions are
produced using eco-friendly methods that reduce water and chemical usage,
making them more environmentally friendly choices.
8. Lightweight: Viscose is lightweight, making it easy to wear and
layer. It's an excellent choice for travel or for creating garments with a
relaxed and effortless look.
9. Affordable: Viscose is generally more affordable than natural
fibers like silk, yet it can mimic the look and feel of more expensive fabrics.
This affordability makes it accessible to a wide range of consumers.
10. Availability of Textures: Viscose fabric can be treated to mimic various textures, such as satin, velvet, or crepe. This versatility allows for the creation of different aesthetics and styles without the higher price tag associated with natural fabrics.
In summary, the softness, comfort, breathability, and draping quality of viscose fabric, combined with its versatile applications and vibrant colors, make it a beloved choice for both clothing and home textiles. Additionally, the availability of sustainable options aligns with the growing preference for environmentally friendly materials. Whether you're looking for everyday comfort or elegant style, viscose fabric has something to offer for everyone.
In
the realm of sustainable living, the
versatility of viscose fabric has taken center stage within the context of
sustainable fashion. This eco-friendly material offers a stylish solution for
conscious consumers seeking to align their fashion choices with ethical values.
Sustainable fashion enthusiasts are
increasingly drawn to the softness and durability of viscose, making it a
preferred choice for garments that seamlessly merge style with environmental
responsibility. As the world embraces sustainable fashion, the appeal of
viscose fabric lies in its ability to elevate wardrobes while contributing to
the larger movement of reducing environmental impact.
Among the innovative practices
in sustainable fashion, paper upcycling has emerged as a remarkable technique. This ingenious method
transforms discarded paper into stunning clothing pieces that are both
sustainable and stylish. By upcycling
paper, designers create unique textures that capture attention while also
highlighting the potential of creative recycling in the fashion industry. As
more fashion brands incorporate paper upcycling, the intersection of
sustainability and style becomes evident, inspiring consumers to embrace
innovative choices that contribute to a greener future.
