GREAT LUNCH AT THE SAYAN HOUSE UBUD - I have deliberately avoided the crowds of Ubud Center and had lunch at The Sayan HouseOne of my greatest lunch experience in UBUD, I will let you know why!

Jalan Raya Sayan No. 70, Sayan, Ubud, Bali
+62 361 479-2592

Located at the Sayan Street, you can find the restaurant plank after Four Seasons at Sayan if you come from Jl. Kedewatan, they will be on your right. The location has a great view of the green forest a la Ubud, the nearby resort, and great sunset if you decide to come by afternoon for dinner. But what I had for lunch was fantastic as well as the green view.

It was a hot day in Ubud but thanked God that The Sayan House was so comfortable exposed area with big trees and the wind, and I choose to get the drinks as the first refreshment before the meal started. Dragoon and Mojito, and which one the best? The Mojito is unusual mojito, definitely a heat killer, so fresh and I loved it.

Move to another fresh plate, a signature The Sayan House Oriental Chicken Salad braised with anise and cinnamon aroma bouillon, served with ginger mayonnaise sauce and a seasonal Balinese fruit salad, it was red dragon fruits on my plate.

From the Sushi side was Crispy King Prawn & Avocado Rolled Sushi, although you could have it in another sushi restaurant. I had no idea if we have come in a state of not eating in a week or it was just simply amazing dish, we have finished it less than 5 minutes ;p. The plate is served with chili cream sauce mix of Balinese and Mexican spices.

The Sayan House Ubud is heavily influenced by Japanese cuisine, we can say it a contemporary because there is also a Balinese touch as a land host, style of cooking and plating, there is even Pasta menu. That's why we tried Australian Wagyu Rendang Penne, as you may know that Rendang is one of the best food in the world and to mix the Italian, Indonesian, & Japanese style in one place, it was taste wonderful.

The plate came along with Grilled Salmon in Saikyo Yaki Style, and first of all, I would say that this how you cook the Salmon so well! I can't describe the sweetness, juiciness, the crispy of its skin LOVED LOVED LOVED! The secret because the salmon meat was marinated overnight in sweet Kyoto-style Saikyo miso, served with a Thai green papaya salad.

"Saikyo Miso originated in Kyoto - a city that has been a center of politics, economics, and culture for more than a thousand years—and has been cultivated by the elegance of royalty. Saikyo Miso has been a valuable part of the Imperial Palace's hare (soul rejuvenation) ceremonies and has developed along with the food culture of the capital city. It is known for its generous amount of rice malt, its sweetness due to its low sodium content, and its beautiful light beige color. Our company has gained national recognition to the point that our name, Saikyo Miso, has become synonymous with white miso. (Miso with a light beige color is referred to as "white" miso in Japan.)" - Saikyomiso.com
