Atelier Soleil , a sensory design studio dedicated to places of hospitality, partners with SAIPL Global to bring to life a new textile collection inspired by Vietnam 

A collaboration between Florence Mussou's sensory vision 

and the textile know-how of SAIPL Global, based in Jaipur

How do you translate the identity of a place into a textile? How can a pattern, a colour or a material be made into a fragment of territory?

It is around these questions that Atelier Soleil, a sensory design studio founded by Florence Mussou, has joined forces with SAIPL Global, an Indian company specializing in textile design and manufacturing, to develop a new collection of printed and plain textiles for hospitality projects and residential spaces.

This collaboration gives substance to an approach to textiles as a true language of place: an element capable of telling a story, evoking a landscape and participating in the emotional atmosphere of a space.

Florence Mussou: creating from what a place tells For Florence Mussou, each project begins with an exploration of the territory.  She readily defines herself as an "archaeologist of the place" : before imagining an aesthetic universe, she seeks to understand what constitutes the identity of a site. Earth, stones, plants, colours, materials, light or local know-how become so many traces to be observed and sources of inspiration. This approach now feeds the first textile collection developed by Atelier Soleil with SAIPL Global.

"I'm not trying to apply a pattern to a place. I first try to understand what the place says. The landscapes, the plants, the colours, the materials and the know-how are all fragments that then make it possible to build a coherent and sensitive universe," explains Florence Mussou, founder and creative director of Atelier Soleil.

 

Four Vietnam-inspired gardens

The collection unfolds around four creative universes inspired by landscapes, plants, colors and know-how associated with Vietnam.

Jardin des Tropiques – Tropical Garden is inspired by the bird of paradise flower and tropical vegetation after rain. Palm trees, lush foliage, deep greens and touches of orange and coral make up a generous vegetal universe.

 

Jardin de l’Indigo – Indigo Garden draws on Vietnamese batik traditions and the deep hues of nature. Patterns inspired by artisanal techniques, indigo and shades of blue and purple evoke a more contemplative universe.

 

Jardin du Riz – Rice Garden translates the poetry of Vietnamese rice fields and harvest landscapes. Tall grass, ears of rice, wind movements and natural tones make up a soft palette, ranging from straw shades to landscape greens.

 

Jardin du Soleil – Solar Garden celebrates the yellow chrysanthemums of Vietnam and kumquats from local markets. Turmeric yellow, kumquat orange and deep blue make up a luminous palette that also echoes the colors of the South of France, Florence Mussou's homeland.

 

Each universe combines printed patterns with a range of solid colours to create cohesive environments. The collection includes patterns inspired by tropical foliage, batik, rice fields, fruits and flowers, as well as shades designed to dialogue with these prints.

 

Atelier Soleil x SAIPL Global: from creation to material

To develop this collection, Atelier Soleil relies on the expertise of SAIPL Global (Shree Ashtavinayak Impex Pvt Ltd), a Jaipur-based company specializing in the design, development and manufacture of textiles and clothing. With more than 15 years of experience in textile design, the company works with a network of craftsmen and masters different printing, embroidery, textile and tailoring techniques. This expertise makes it possible to support projects from creative development to the realization of the final product. SAIPL Global is also SMETA (Sedex Members Ethical Trade) certified. This certification is based on regular audits designed to verify compliance with ethical standards over time and to ensure that the company's commitments are monitored.

"This collaboration allows us to go beyond drawing. We can work on how an idea really becomes a material, a pattern and a textile capable of finding its place in a project," continues Florence Mussou.

Textiles as the signature of a place

With this collection, Atelier Soleil continues its reflection on the role of textiles in hospitality.

Long considered as a decorative element, textiles can become a real storytelling tool: they give rhythm to a space, create associations of colours and materials and help to inscribe a project in its environment.

The collection is thus designed to be integrated into hospitality projects and residential spaces, in a logic where prints, plain textiles, materials and atmospheres can dialogue to build a global identity.

This first collaboration between Atelier Soleil and SAIPL Global also paves the way for the development of tailor-made textile collections for projects wishing to inscribe their identity in a particular territory, culture or history.
