VISIT DALLAS CELEBRATES THE RETURN OF THE MARGARITA MILE

VISIT DALLAS CELEBRATES THE RETURN OF THE MARGARITA MILEThe Margarita Mile, a self-guided tour of the city's best and brightest margaritas is back! The Margarita Mile invites both visitors and Dallasites alike to experience this iconic beverage like never before.

“The Margarita Mile is a uniquely Dallas experience, and we're thrilled to bring it back even bigger and better this year with new restaurants and swag to earn,” said Jennifer Walker, Visit Dallas Chief Marketing Officer. “As the official home of the frozen margarita, what better way to experience the diverse flavors and neighborhoods Dallas has to offer than with the ultimate margarita bucket list?”

When the Margarita Mile launched in May 2018, it staked the claim that Dallas is the Official Home of the Frozen Margarita. The tour was paused last year to revamp and reimagine; now, Margarita Mile 2.0 includes a range of new 'ritas to try in a free, mobile-exclusive digital pass.

The Margarita Mile is not your average pub crawl or wine tasting. Users will receive their free, curated pass directly to their smartphone via text/email and can start exploring immediately. To start the trek down the Mile, simply check in to one of over 20 participating locations, enjoy a craft margarita and earn cool swag. Participants who reach “Rita Rockstar” status will get a chance to win the Dallas Prize Package, which includes a two-night stay in Dallas, attraction passes, and more.

Dallas' history with America's most famous frozen concoction is as storied as it is salty. In 1971, a clever restaurateur, Mariano Martinez, invented the frozen margarita machine to satisfy his customers and keep his restaurant afloat. That first machine now sits in the Smithsonian National Museum of American History, and the way the world drinks has never been the same.

Since 1971, Dallas hasn't stopped innovating. The Dallas 'rita of today just might surprise you, with delicious twists like a hint of spicy serrano pepper, cooling cucumber, or a mango tajin popsicle nestled right in. See the full list at MargaritaMileDallas.com.

Participants must be 21 or older to partake in the Margarita Mile. As always, please drink responsibly.
