DISCOVER NEVADA: 8 UNIQUE EXPERIENCES AND ATTRACTIONS

Nevada is a beautiful state but most of its parts are often overlooked because of the overwhelmingly famous Las Vegas. Nevada has a lot to offer and has all the things you could ask for in a vacation destination: mountains, deserts, lakes and rivers, forests, ski resorts, and the list goes on! Since it's hard to know where to start when exploring this diverse landscape, we've compiled this list of some of our eight favorite places in Nevada to visit during your next getaway!

1. Goldwell Open Air Museum

Located in Overton, Nevada, the Goldwell Open Air Museum is a stunning collection of monumental sculptures by New Zealand artist Andrew Rogers. The museum was initially conceived as part of an outdoor sculpture course taught at UNLV and today has grown to include over 40 works of art spread out across 25 acres!

2. Spectacular Hoover Dam

Not far from the city of Las Vegas in Boulder City, you can see one of man's greatest engineering features. It is located on the Arizona-Nevada border and is a must-see attraction when visiting Nevada. Visitors can get a guided tour and learn all about the Hoover Dam’s history, which took over five years to build! With spectacular views like this one, you'll want to spend plenty of time exploring everything that Nevada has to offer.

3. Hot Springs in Goldstrike Canyon

Nevada has many hot springs to choose from, but we think the ones in Goldstrike Canyon are lovely. Located about 90 minutes south of Las Vegas near the small town of Jean, this area is home to several different types of naturally occurring hot water that seep up over two miles deep into the ground!

4. The Middlegate Shoe Tree

This is one of the more bizarre attractions in Nevada, and this is a shoe tree that's part art installation and part memorial. Located about 30 minutes away from Great Basin National Park near the small town of Baker, you'll find an old juniper with over 400 shoes hanging on its branches!

5. UFOs on the Extraterrestrial Highway

With a name like that, you know this is going to be an interesting one. Located in Nevada's southern tip near the town of Rachel, visitors will find what has been billed as "the world's first UFO Welcome Center." It features maps and brochures detailing all kinds of information about UFOs and extraterrestrials!

6. The Clown Motel

Located about 20 minutes from the city of Tonopah near Gerlach, Nevada is a motel with an incredible history and plenty of charm, as well as some seriously creepy clowns decorating every inch! Since it's one of the creepier attractions on this list, it'll be great for you to book a stay here for remarkable experiences.

7. The Republic of Molossia

Located about 40 minutes from the city of Reno is this small yet exciting nation. The Republic of Molossia, also known as "a friendly micronation," was founded by Kevin Baugh and his family in 1999 after purchasing a house near Dayton, Nevada. Today it remains an independent country with its laws and policies!

8. Lake Tahoe

Lake Tahoe is one of the most famous lakes in the country, and it's also our favorite attraction to see while visiting Nevada. This beautiful lake straddles California and Nevada on its west coast home. Visitors can enjoy boating, swimming, fishing, or just lounging on one of many beaches!

Nevada has a lot to offer, and this is just a small list. The list of attractions, adventures, and experiences goes on in Nevada! We would love to know whether you've been to Nevada, and if so, what kind of experience did you get?
