WATG AND WIMBERLY INTERIORS APPOINTS GHC ASIA AS ASIA PACIFIC PR REPRESENTATIVEThe world's leading hospitality and destination design firm, WATG, has appointed hospitality and lifestyle specialist PR agency GHC Asia as its communications representative for Asia Pacific.

GHC Asia's brief will be to raise the global design firm's profile in the Asia Pacific region, where WATG and its interior design studio Wimberley Interiors are working on an exciting pipeline of landmark projects and predicting significant growth for the business.

Founded in 1945 by George 'Pete' Wimberly in Honolulu, WATG is one of the world's leading multidisciplinary design firms specializing in hospitality, entertainment and gaming, urban and mixed-use, and high-end residential design.

Independent to this day and with a profound respect for heritage, its five studios – Strategy, Master Planning, Architecture, Landscape Architecture and Wimberly Interiors – stay true to the company's values, designing spaces that respect, protect and enhance the natural magic of their surroundings while delivering long-term value for clients and communities.

In Asia, the firm's work embraces projects as diverse as the region's most famous classic hotels like The St. Regis Singapore and The Garden Wing of The Shangri-La Singapore, to master-planning entirely new urban and resort destinations such as Phu Quoc island and the debut of the new InterContinental brand in Halong Bay in Vietnam. Pioneers of the integrated resort model, WATG and Wimberly Interiors have designed for such world-renowned luxury brands as Four Seasons, One&Only, Rosewood, Fairmont and Belmond along with lifestyle brands such as EDITION, W, Aloft, Indigo, Moxy and Dream Hotel Group.

“We have a lot of exciting projects globally, a very talented international team and a strong pipeline in the Asia region,” said Rob Day, WATG Regional Managing Director Asia Pacific and China. “We felt the time was right to engage a dynamic and proactive PR agency who share our passion for the travel and hospitality industry. GHC Asia was a natural fit for us, and there was immediately great chemistry with our team.”

“As a regional PR agency who has worked on many landmark hotel and destination projects, we were already very familiar with WATG's work and reputation. They are truly legends in all aspects of design, and we are very excited to be engaged to help tell their incredible story,” said Paul Hicks, Founder and Chairman of GHC Asia.

As of 2021, WATG's global yet local team represents more than 65 nationalities and has designed and delivered over 400 built projects in 170 countries and territories – and counting.
