WELCOME TO AMANJIWO - If you ask me about the places you must visit before you die? the answer is absolutely Candi Borobudur, is one of the most protected world heritage sites, slash wonders of the world, and everything you even couldn't imagine unless you bring your body and soul, and see with your own eyes the grandeur of this heritage from one of the biggest ancient empires in that ages.

Talking about an empire, this is an escape from a big city, the modern empire called Amanjiwo Resort. Located near Candi Borobudur, what I can say? I was a king or ya, at least, a prince. I have no idea, how was Sangramadhananjaya or Samarantunga's life but the experiences I have here were worth it after all.

Amanjiwo (peaceful soul) rests in the rural heartland of Central Java. The resort is located within a natural amphitheater with the limestone Menoreh Hills rising gently behind, the Kedu Plain in front, and four volcanoes (Sumbing and Sundoro to the west, Merbabu, and Merapi to the east) on the horizon. Amanjiwo Resort looks out onto the 9th-century Buddhist sanctuary of Candi Borobudur, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Several villages are within walking distance of the Amanjiwo Resort.

I came to Yogyakarta to see all about Vesak night at Candi Borobudur, it is need more than 1 hour to reach the site. But what you need is a perfect place to stay during the event, the perfect spot to catch a view of sunrise and sunset perfectly through the biggest Buddhist monument on earth. It was late morning, On my first step walking into the front gate, I was greeted by Amanjiwo Resort staff with uniform, then a sprinkling of flowers everywhere, yes we do this very often, especially for the special occasion, it was a kind of acceptance and sanctification.

The views are amazing, in fact, for more than 15 years, the best view here is one and only Candi Borobudur itself, but, of course, the nature and all the peaceful moments during your stay. We have settled up the room, Borobudur Pool Suite, so we have a private pool and actually can see Candi Borobudur from an acceptable distance.  A lot of stories from here, starting from my arrival, resort tour, dinner with the GM Mark Swinton, breathtaking breakfast view, and "I'll be back" moment.
