BREAKFAST AT BLUE KARMA RESORT UBUD - Sometimes I hate a la carte sometimes I hate buffet, BUT I love set breakfast. Here in Blue Karma Resort Ubud, the choices of breakfast are Indonesian, Australian, Blue Karma, Japanese & Lebanese and usually the sweets like the cake of the day at their buffet, also with fruits, coffee, & tea as usual.
I didn't have a chance to have Lebanese Style Tray breakfast, but I had tried the rest. It looks like very minimalist breakfast, but trust me, as a local I had enough with this without touching any menu at the buffet bar.
The cheat sheet I will give you about my breakfast experience at Blue Karma Resort Ubud;
- Healthy Breakfast = Blue Karma breakfast
- I am pretty hungry breakfast = Australian breakfast
- Seafood for breakfast = Japanese breakfast
- I am HUNGRY AF breakfast = Indonesian breakfast
Like I said, I didn't touch the buffet because I feel had enough, but it mostly sweet cakes like a muffin, soft cake, carrot cake something like that.
I also had dinner at their restaurant, and what I had ordered for drink mostly fresh juices and healthy beverages. Teriyaki chicken with sauteed vegetables, BBQ chicken breast with young mango salad, and for desserts was pannacotta and banana fried. I can say it was enjoyable experience both dinner and breakfast if you want a time of solitude.
A Great Food - Thanks to their in-house Petani Restaurant for the wide selections of food & beverage especially Indonesian & Balinese dishes. You can read or you can visit and proved yourself, how nice to spend your time at Petani Restaurant. Moreover this year, next to the Alaya Hotel Ubud, there will be a new restaurant open, Manisan Bali Restaurant, I should try it next time, because when I was there, they were building the restaurant, or I believe they are still building and touching it up, to be open soon in July 2016, how excited right?
A Great Location - It is a walking distance to the famous Monkey Forest Ubud (like 5 minutes walking) and 30 minutes walking from Ubud Center, where you can walk and enjoy the Ubud street with their unique shops and cafes in between. There is also a supermarket if you need something out of sudden, and also the Yoga Barn? Is next to the hotel, you're welcome :)
A Great Hospitality - I felt very been welcomed every time I visit Alaya or Petani, thank you so much :) and they also have a mission to help in need with all their program, totally worth to be involved by stay here 1 or 2 nights when you are in Ubud. Alaya Ubud is quite a well-known hotel in Ubud and those positives reviews are indeed true, at least for myself and proved everytime I step my feet here.
I still didn't have a chance to try the Dala Spa, maybe we can keep it for later, but I have seen them and it is beautiful Spa, with classic and rustic atmosphere. Guests love to chill by the pool almost full all day, thanked god I grab my book and enjoy my afternoon there. After a stroll around Ubud Center including Ubud Art Market and Ubud Palace, get myself an afternoon tea a la Alaya Ubud with Indonesian traditional sweet-cakes, have a nice chill in the pool will be recommended.

TRIP TO YOGYAKARTA WITH SAMSUNG GALAXY S7 EDGE Part II - The next morning I felt not going anywhere because I still freaking sick but I managed to get myself two scopes of gelato, so yes I got myself a Tempo Gelato in Prawirotaman Street and wished to kill influenza and choose to stay at the hotel for the rest of the night because I have something to do with all work emails.
I stayed at one of the most hype boutique hotel in Yogyakarta; The Greenhost Hotel in prawirotaman area, the concept is mixing a contemporary modern art with “green” lifestyle as you can see the hydroponic plants all over the area, also at the rooftop. I got some pictures that I have taken by Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, the light environment was more to yellowish and they used neon lighting (I believed is an act of energy saving). In my opinion, the shot was good, I even feel don’t need a filter at all because I just love as it is.

The last day in Yogyakarta, and honestly don’t know where to go, so I got the mainstream idea just to kill the time before catching the train back to Bandung at 9 PM, Parangtritis Beach. I know there are so many beaches on the south coast of Yogyakarta, especially in Gunung Kidul, but after checked out from the hotel I only have a limited time, so I choose Parangtritis instead.
But lucky me, The time I arrived there was a procession of Labuhan Jeladri, an annual ceremony held by public or Royalty to remembering the first meet between the founder of Mataram Islam Kingdom, Panembahan Senopati and The Queen of South Sea, Kanjeng Ratu Kidul. It was very mystical, cultural, and so many people there.
I went back to the city of Yogyakarta and had a good time at Honje Restaurant near Tugu Yogyakarta, I snap one two picture of me with Tugu Yogyakarta as a background of course with Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, and the tugu details perfectly captured as you can see in this picture.
Honje Restaurant is a beautiful restaurant located on the 2nd floor when you, the building are like an Old Dutch building with local and western menu selection. At the 1st floor, you can find Dowa Bag which is the same owner as Honje Restaurant that sells a crochet style fabric that also used for a cushion in a Honje Restaurant too, a very colorful collection.

Overall by having Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge for this trip made me easy to capture moment day and night, moreover if the rainfall or exposed to the water spill, because the Smartphone also designed to water and dust resistant, also it means that you no need to worry, although you need to use it responsibly and not too abusive haha :p.
To see all the pic in my Instagram feed taken by Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and most of them are no filter pictures, I feel can’t wait to explore because Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge bring my photo experience to the Next Level #NextLevelS7 more places and shot the photo with Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, soon I hope so ;)
TRIP TO YOGYAKARTA WITH SAMSUNG GALAXY S7 EDGE (Part I) - It was an early morning in Bandung and I catch a train at the station to reach Yogyakarta in the afternoon so I can at least have a day to rest before heading to Borobudur for Waisak Night. That was the plan. I was sick and had the first symptoms of influenza during this trip, I hate it but I had to imagine a thousand of lampions in Borobudur and I can take the photo with my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge that well known for the low light photo, so I was quite happy.
Arrived at the Tugu station, rain started to fall and I asked my friend to reconfirm the rent car should be at the hotel tomorrow morning and it’s confirmed. Until I saw the news that the procession of Waisak Night will be starting that night and a thousand lampions will be released at 10 PM, while I looked at the clock and it was 7 PM already.
I was like “Could you please contact the rent car and can we go now?” and it didn’t happen, so I missed the Waisak Night and those beautiful lampions flying in the night sky of Borobudur, but I was not really sad because I was still sick, tired and just weak lol.
So the next morning, we changed the plan by visit Prambanan Temple instead and try my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge camera, and that was amazing, the details were great. I even took one photo at the Shiva Temple, where there is a Lord Shiva Mahadev statue inside the total darkness chamber, and I got the nice picture of it, thanks to dual pixel camera, awesome: 0

Then after, we decided to head west to Kaliurang to visit Ullen Sentalu Museum. Unfortunately, we don’t allow taking a picture during the museum tour which is good, and I loved the museum so much, I recommend you to visit them if you have a chance, especially if you love culture and history.
We went back to Prambanan to have very late lunch at Abhayagiri Resto because I read they got the beautiful view to Prambanan and great ambiance at night. Yes, it was beautiful until the hard rain coming, but the rest of the night just beautiful, I got a picture of Abhayagiri Resto taken by Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. Unfortunately, we can’t see the Prambanan at night, but ambiance was lovely
We head back to the city of Yogyakarta and I remember that my friend have told me about “Becak Lampu” at Alun-Alun Kidul. So before end my night, I visit the hype of Alun-Alun Kidul and take some pictures and video from my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, please judge by you! The details are totally insanely amazing; moreover, I took it while I was moving. It was so easy to capture moving object.
The pictures and video were taken by using Auto mode of Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, I still can’t imagine if I use the pro mode totally #NextLevelS7. I still have a story with Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, so click TRIP TO YOGYAKARTA WITH SAMSUNG GALAXY S7 EDGE Part II
GREAT LUNCH AT THE SAYAN HOUSE UBUD - I have deliberately avoided the crowds of Ubud Center and had lunch at The Sayan HouseOne of my greatest lunch experience in UBUD, I will let you know why!
Jalan Raya Sayan No. 70, Sayan, Ubud, Bali
+62 361 479-2592
Located at the Sayan Street, you can find the restaurant plank after Four Seasons at Sayan if you come from Jl. Kedewatan, they will be on your right. The location has a great view of the green forest a la Ubud, the nearby resort, and great sunset if you decide to come by afternoon for dinner. But what I had for lunch was fantastic as well as the green view.
It was a hot day in Ubud but thanked God that The Sayan House was so comfortable exposed area with big trees and the wind, and I choose to get the drinks as the first refreshment before the meal started. Dragoon and Mojito, and which one the best? The Mojito is unusual mojito, definitely a heat killer, so fresh and I loved it.
Move to another fresh plate, a signature The Sayan House Oriental Chicken Salad braised with anise and cinnamon aroma bouillon, served with ginger mayonnaise sauce and a seasonal Balinese fruit salad, it was red dragon fruits on my plate.
From the Sushi side was Crispy King Prawn & Avocado Rolled Sushi, although you could have it in another sushi restaurant. I had no idea if we have come in a state of not eating in a week or it was just simply amazing dish, we have finished it less than 5 minutes ;p. The plate is served with chili cream sauce mix of Balinese and Mexican spices.
The Sayan House Ubud is heavily influenced by Japanese cuisine, we can say it a contemporary because there is also a Balinese touch as a land host, style of cooking and plating, there is even Pasta menu. That's why we tried Australian Wagyu Rendang Penne, as you may know that Rendang is one of the best food in the world and to mix the Italian, Indonesian, & Japanese style in one place, it was taste wonderful.
The plate came along with Grilled Salmon in Saikyo Yaki Style, and first of all, I would say that this how you cook the Salmon so well! I can't describe the sweetness, juiciness, the crispy of its skin LOVED LOVED LOVED! The secret because the salmon meat was marinated overnight in sweet Kyoto-style Saikyo miso, served with a Thai green papaya salad.
"Saikyo Miso originated in Kyoto - a city that has been a center of politics, economics, and culture for more than a thousand years—and has been cultivated by the elegance of royalty. Saikyo Miso has been a valuable part of the Imperial Palace's hare (soul rejuvenation) ceremonies and has developed along with the food culture of the capital city. It is known for its generous amount of rice malt, its sweetness due to its low sodium content, and its beautiful light beige color. Our company has gained national recognition to the point that our name, Saikyo Miso, has become synonymous with white miso. (Miso with a light beige color is referred to as "white" miso in Japan.)" - Saikyomiso.com
Until this state we were full but can't help to try their Apple Pie with Vanilla Ice Cream and Choco Cake with Coconut Ice Cream. Overall this was my a great lunch experience, I did a right choice to had a lunch here at The Sayan House Ubud, great ambiance great food, and friendly staff explain what we had. I have spent more than 3 hours here until they are closed to take a break and for dinner preparation, now I am curious what it be like if I come here for dinner before sunset?
You may need a good reservation first :)
