INTERVIEW WITH FOUNDATION DE LA HAUTE HORLOGERIE, DELUXSHIONIST, HERDIANA SURACHMAN

INTERVIEW WITH FONDATION DE LA HAUTE HORLOGERIE - It's me talk about time, a little bit about a timepiece that I like and the rest are imagination. Thank you so much Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie for your questions, somehow it reminds me that time is way more important that anything (maybe?) | Read full Interview on Haute Horlogerie Journal

HERDIANA SURACHMAN, INTERVIEW WITH FOUNDATION DE LA HAUTE HORLOGERIE

DELUXSHIONIST BEST OF 2016 - In this post I would like to say thank you to the year of 2016, although some of the moment was probably the worst in my life, but in this year also, I have got my dream finally do come true, but I never thought that when I got something I really want, it felt so different, and it was such an eye-opening experience, even the ultimate dream could be the worst nightmare, but we will never be able to count the blessing we have got throughout our life, so let's embrace the good part in life to remember the grace and the hope in the near future ;)

TALKSHOW WITH MAJESTIC JAKARTA & MEN'S HEALTH INDONESIA
Thank you so much for Women's Health Indonesia & Men's Health Indonesia for inviting me to your launch event talk about Traveling with Style in conjunction with product launch and also Majestic Jakarta for inspiring talk show in Kota Kasablanka. It was one of my best moment to share the knowledge to people. Thank you for the trust and opportunity

THE SACRED RITUAL LABUHAN JALADRI
I consider this as invitation from "the other side" because who knows there was a cultural ceremony when your intention only to see the sea and killing time in Yogyakarta and it turned as my best killing time in 2016, mostly local people that attend the ceremony, as long I can see, only 3 foreigner tourists were there. The event full of philosophy background, I wish the event like this can have its best position equal to an international festival, but since it was a sacred ceremony, the event like this may not need such publication :)

FIRST EDM PARTY AT ULTRA SINGAPORE
Yes, It is all about that beat. Honestly, I am not a party person, the only thing I do to celebrate the moment in life is as simple as meet and having dinner with beloved friends or travelling with them, that's could be my introverted part of me and amazingly the festival was so fun, I had so much fun, and that was my extroverted part of me. I must agree that sometimes with all the bullshit life has given to us, all you need to do is forget and dance.

FIRST TRIP TO EUROPE - PRAGUE & PARIS
I always want to travel far only by myself (even the Prague part was a media trip and the half of Paris part I have been accompanied by friends, but it was still a memorable experience. I even accidentally met a friend from IG, Wendy from @Nomadicfare on the street when I was searching for my hotel in Paris). I will share more Paris stories in my next post when the happy and the sad can happen in same time.

INTERVIEWED BY FONDATION DE LA HAUTE HORLOGERIE
It such an honor for me to became their first "tastemaker" and being interviewed by the HH Journal has marked me that I got the proper international recognition for what I am doing after last year featured on ASEAN Up Top 10 Bloggers from Indonesia. Thank you so much Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie team. Read the full interview on their Haute Horlogerie Journal - I wish I can do more in 2017

10 BOOK HAVE BEEN READ
My actual target was a book per month, I have read 10 new books and re-read some of other collections, so it's accomplished yeayyy. Because a book is my escape from reality, so yes, this year is the year of reading the books. beside read all those freakin emails. My favorites are Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki by Haruki Murakami, Black Order by James Rollins, & The Girl on The Train by Paula Hawkins. I also read spiritual books in Bahasa Indonesia such as Syekh Siti Jenar by Achmad Chodjim, Muhammad: Lelaki Penggengam Hujan by Tasaro GK, The Life of Milarepa by Lobsang P Lhalungpa. The other four are Man Tiger, Centhini, Sukuh & Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Any suggestions for 2017 reading challenge?

Regardless the good and the bad, that was the cycle of life, you choose to start and end it with the best you can do :). Happy New Year of 2017
SACRED RITUAL: LABUHAN JELADRI

SACRED RITUAL: LABUHAN JALADRI - I had less than 12 hours before I catch the night train to Bandung and what I was thinking is a beach. I know it is not a leisure beach but, I justwant to see Parangtritis that day and it doesn't really far from Yogyakarta, it was about less than 2 hours by car, initially I just want to killing the time waiting my train, moreover I rent a car, I need to use it right?

Nothing really happened during the trip, butttt after a second when I arrived, for a moment I can't believe what I see. There were some kind a trYaditional ceremony and I think, I was just lucky that day. I asked a local what's happening, and he said it was Labuhan Jaladri, an annual event held by the Keraton Jogja (the Royalty event) to commemorate the reign of the Sri Sultan (The King of Mataram Islam). The whole story behind the ceremony is about the founder of the Kingdom of Mataram Islam, that if I am not mistaken, the founder of the Kingdom, Panembahan Senopati was meditating near the beach and asking for the help of Ratu Kidul (or we can call her, The Queen of The South Sea)

The Labuhan ritual also held every year in Gunung Merapi, where Kyai Sapu Jagad, the other supernatural ruler live and in Gunung Lawu where the ancestors of the kingdom, King Bravijaya V was moksha. With the power of Sea, Land and asked for blessing to the ancestors, the king had hoped that his kingdom will be protected, more than that the land and the sea can bring prosperity to the people.

You can see the video below, it is very interesting and I feel happy that I can see the ritual with my own eyes this year.

From the West to the East there is a lot of ceremonies, rituals or festivals in Indonesia that are rich in background history and culture. I just wish I am lucky enough to attend the new ceremony or festival every year in this #WonderfulIndonesia

DELUXSHIONIST TRIP TO PRAGUE CZECH REPUBLIC

DELUXSHIONIST TRIP TO PRAGUE CZECH REPUBLIC PART II - After meeting with Home Credit Team in their office and have a little tour and also meet with the digital team behind Zonky, and then had a lunch, in guest what? a Thai Restaurant called Modry Zub because we're looking for a precious asian white rice LOL. Because I pretty familiar with the thai food blah ( lol not really), so no tom yam kung or mamuang white sticky rice, so I ordered their speciality Pla Nueng Manao, which was a Steam Sea Bass with Lime Garlic Chilli Souce that I pretty much remember that I had one plate of the same menu at The Naka Phuket, when I thought the size of the menu was only for myself, no it didn't, it was at least for 2 people, the whole Sea Bass in a hot fish plate, and it turned so good, and also, the funny thing it was more delicious than what I got in phuket, like how come?

DELUXSHIONIST TRIP TO PRAGUE CZECH REPUBLIC
Amazing Thai Dish in Prague OMG - The Plating also major and it was hot plate

We continue our trip to another touristy center, Petrin Tower where you can see the eagle view of the amazing Prague town and Charles Bridge that obviously full of people.

So all those beautiful pictures you see about the bridge probably was highly edited pictures LOL (well absolutely edited) or taken when the sun rise, it will be less people at the bridge but no guarantee because there will be a bunch of photographers and pre-wedding couples who will wake up before sunrise to rule the bridge, but  when you walk on the brigde when there is less people, it would be amazing beautiful. So consider to wake up early and visit the bridge when most of people still on their dream.

What I love are so many Jesus statue, although the country is known for mostly atheist people, but it's just amazing for me and the street musician, they were playing the music from the Game of Thrones, so wonderful.

After that we end the day had a great dinner by the river at Grosetto Marina Restorante, and I got my beef pasta and it was European size (as usuall I couldn't finished the meal) but the view was gorgeous at night.

Well nothing really interesting has happened, we spent the day 2 like a very basic tourist - someone gotta jump from the bridge to make it more interesting hahaha or from the tower LOL just kidding pshyco

DELUXSHIONIST TRIP TO PPF GROUP OFFICE PRAGUE

MEETING AT HOME CREDIT HEAD QUARTER - Yes you read it right!

Selengkapnya di Deluxshionist Trip to Prague Czech Republic Day 2

DELUXSHIONIST TRIP TO PRAGUE CZECH REPUBLIC

DELUXSHIONIST TRIP TO PRAGUE CZECH REPUBLIC: DAY 1 - I have never imagined that the first European country I visited would be the Czech Republic. Well, it wasn't my first attempts to visit Europe, in 2013 I have applied Schengen Visa to attend Paris Fashion Week, although they had granted me with a short visit visa (multiple entries, even) it has never happened. In 2015, after my Bali Trip with Pepsodent, I compete to get a ticket to Prague, but I ended up lost (obviously), but I was not really feeling it because the trip was on winter European time. And finally in 2016, on the beautiful Autumn Season in Northern part of the Earth, I had stepped my two feet in Europe, and it was Prague, Czech Republic because I have submitted a Home Credit article and they choose me to join this trip, but long story short it was amazing experience I had, not only Prague but the iconic city in Czech Republic like Kutna Hora & Cesky Krumlov. I will write the elaborate stories below

I fly from Jakarta CGK Airport by KLM Dutch Airline, transit in Kuala Lumpur for about 1 hour and then transit in Amsterdam for about 6 hours, it was a butt hurt flight but thank god I got a comfortable seat, so when I need to move, I can stand or take a walk to the toilet without disturb other people. I fly with their Boeing 777-300 ER JET, if you want to try the Boeing in a short flight, you can book them for a flight to KL, I was thinking of it because I have an event to attend in KL the week earlier for Mercedes Benz.

The flight went smoothly and the first thing I want to do when I have 6 hours at Amsterdam Airport was charging my phones, brush my teeth and eat McDonalds for almost 10 Euro. After all transit businesses, we changed the flight, we got the smaller size plan and most of the passengers were elderly people, I was like "Really?" I was thinking whether Prague will be boring. We have board etc and there is a young lady that caught my attention because of she kinda pretty and annoying at the same time, seating in the window seat in front of me. Something, where I was flying in the sky that makes me scary as hell, is SHE DID NOT TURN OFF HER PHONE during the flight she was crazy and plainly sending some emails of office drama (ya I was seeing what she does & reading some words, sorryyyy lol), yeaaa I know (maybe) that one or two phones would not affect the communication, but still I was scared. So, please even it was a short flight, turn off your phone to airplane mode and send the emails later would not be hurt. But Thanked God, we safely landed, nice weather about 12-15 Degree Autumn Celcius, Welcome to Ceska Republika.

DELUXSHIONIST TRIP TO PRAGUE CZECH REPUBLIC ASTRONOMICAL CLOCK

As we have arrived in the afternoon, and welcomed by appointed tour agent, who would be likely asked where we want to go, but I think we were all tired and need an hour of clean and rest then strolling around. We had stayed at Ibis Praha Old Town, next to Palladium Mall in a neighborhood (or street) called Namesti Republiky which is walking distance from the old town square, pretty nice. Prague is a major beautiful city on East European side, which is cheaper compared with Central or West Europe countries, I suggest you visit this beautiful city if you someday you plan your mainstream European Itinerary.

1 hour of preparation and clean, we had enjoyed the old town had enjoyed the traditional takeaway snack, that could be eaten by two people "Staroprzske Tradicni TRDLO" Vanilla Dream, which was full of whipped cream and big strawberries ever, it was big, sweet and good, it was like cinnamon bread with sparks of white sugar & traditionally baked or grilled. I forgot how much for the Trdelnik, maybe 65Kr (yes, they don't use Euro, it makes the price here pretty much cheaper) and now I am craving for the Trdelnik with Ice Cream, and now 11 PM, what a perfect time to craving for a food.

Can you take a picture of me? Yes lol

I hate it because so many people (what do you expect? A historical old town square with fewer people would be impossible unless the old town back in 5 centuries ago lol). Yes people were coming here, immortilized the Astronomical Clock, eating street food after shop at Pariska Street, playing Segway for a God sake, take a million photos, walking around an old alley and closed the day at Chinese Resto with a plate full of fried rice & grilled duck, that actually safe my existence because of jet lag I woke up at 2 AM and hungry.

DELUXSHIONIST TRIP TO PRAGUE CZECH REPUBLIC

THE LIST OF COUNTRIES INDONESIANS CAN TRAVEL TO WITHOUT A VISA - Because of Instagram I want to travel the world lol

I was thinking to plan a trip somewhere far, anti-mainstream, unique at least every once a year, but honestly, I hate to apply for visa lol or if not, the place I can reach at least ranged $500-$1000 fly coach for an extra adventure and feeling lost. But thank God, Indonesia have Bali, the island full of beautiful things in culture, nature or even modern lifestyle with its luxury resorts, and the world has agreed with that. And it is only less than 2 hours flight away from my home base, I can go back and forth any time or even explore the beauty of the region of South East Asia for the cheapest options.

While travel to EU or US, Indonesians need to apply for a visa, there is another option to travel Visa Free or VoA for these following countries, and I love to put them in on my bucket list for the future travel plan. Countries like Turkey, Morocco, Maldives, Fiji, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Tanzania are on my top list of Visa Free/Visa on Arrival countries to visit. Well, really?

While Singapore with Changi, Uni Emirates Arab with their Dubai Airport, Turkey with Ataturk only for transit, it will open the doors for affordable travel, but not really, because direct flight is more expensive than the transit one of course, for example if I want to fly from Turkey to Morocco, there is a cheaper flight but I need to stop first in... Paris or Amsterdam like wth.

The possible route in one trip from the cheapest to the most expensive maybe would be:
  1. India - Nepal - Bhutan - Tibet (Road Trip? or there is direct flight from Delhi to Kathmandu by IndiGo)
  2. Sri Lanka - Maldives (Flight by Mihin Lanka or Srilanka Airlines)
  3. Fiji (There is should be a direct flight from Singapore or transit in Sydney sighhhh)
  4. Turkey (There is direct flight to Istanbul by Turkish Airlines)
  5. Morocco (Transit in Riyadh by Saudia, traveling in Riyadh? hmmm ok)
  6. UEA - Kenya - Tanzania (Direct flight from UEA to Tanzania by flydubai or stop in Kenya first by Kenya Airways)

BEST RESTAURANT IN UBUD (LISTED FROM THE MOST FAVORITE) - Where to eat in Ubud?
